Tarçın

'Tarçın' is the salt dough dachshund of Günbike Erdemir. Her name is the Turkish translation for 'cinnamon'. The sculpture is a portrait of a memory, whereas the artist's childhood dog carried the same name and had a similar appearance. This nostalgic recreation of Erdemir's animal companion was evoked during the residency, since the inanimate dog would accompany the artist during her daily activities in the natural environment of Wildenburg.
